What in the world is… Ayurveda

Let us get this straight. Ayurveda is not a religious practice. It is a heath practice. Getting the mind and body in a state that makes you happy. After reading continuous blogs, posts, and skincare products, I feel that I can come to y’all about this healing system.

Coming at you from Boyer’s Grill in Manchester, TN, I’m Nicole New and What in the world is… Ayurveda.

Don’t like to read? Video out soon.

Ayurveda is the ancient holistic healing system, the science of life. Holistic is treatment of the whole person, not just mind, or body, but mind and body. Originating in India over 5,000 years ago making it the oldest ever healing heath system. In Ayurveda, all living things and non-living things are connected.

There are 3 Doshas- Pitia, Kapha, and Vata. All the Doshas represent 2 of the elements that compose every being: space, earth, fire, water, and air. The goal is that whatever Dosha you are at that moment, you try to be another Dosha.

Pitia is fire and water elements. Wearing red lipstick, liking spicy foods, etc., try to go for more soft things, such as warm teas and nude lips, like Kapha.

Kapha is earth and water elements. You are a smooth flowing girl, don’t like to be outside the crowd. Try to be more bold and irregular, like Vata.

Vata is air and space elements. This is the person that is cool with anything. Try to be more bold, more smooth.

The purpose of the Doshas is not to try to be exactly like one all day everyday. The purpose is to balance everything out.

I hope that you get an broad understanding of Ayurveda. I certainly learned a lot. If you are interested in trying Ayurveda, research some Temples or Café’s in your area. There is certainly none in rusty old jtown, or Manchester for that mater.

Upcoming: Book review on Big Happy Family, Fall Fever Fashion, Shopping Haul.
